The Uncial Hand is one of the most popular scripts among modern day scribes. This lovely script was devised by Michael Kecseg (USA) and based loosely on the Uncial Script but written with a pointed copperplate nib. It has many uses: quotations, cards, names, bookmarks, added to artwork to name a few. It can look stunning using different inks and metallic inks on coloured paper. In this one-day workshop you will learn the Pointed Pen Uncial script using all the alphabet letters plus the numerals.
As Uncial is basically a capital letter script it is somewhat easier for a beginner to learn first before traditional Copperplate and it is a good introduction using a pointed pen. This workshop is best suited for students who have taken the Foundational our Uncial Hand workshop, or who have some similar beginner experience. Each student will receive individual tuition throughout the day.
Students will receive comprehensive handouts, guide sheets plus a pen holder, pointed pen nib, ink, an A4 layout pad and related supplies. Class fee is $120, payable on sign-up. Students should bring their own lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. Class size limited to 7 students. To secure your spot please pay at the Inkt shop or ring 06 262 8080 to pay by credit card.
Fee is non-refundable and the workshop date selected cannot be changed.
