After a spellbinding album release show in Paekakariki, indie-folk / alt-country singer Steph Casey and her wonderful band are coming to Picton's Le Café to bring you songs from Casey's two critically acclaimed albums.
Here's what the critics had to say about the new album "The Seats In My Car":
“This second album by the acclaimed indie-folk singer Steph Casey confirms a strong and unique talent.” – Graham Reid
“Gorgeous arrangement with golden melodious vocals. Her vocal clarity and heartfelt lyrics complement each other flawlessly. 5/5 stars.” – muzic.net.nz
Expect warm acoustic guitar overlaid with swathes of gritty tremolo electric guitar, deep piano chords, soaring vocals with sublime backing harmonies, lyrics that touch the soul, with a murder ballad and an irreverent pop-rock song thrown in for good measure.
Singer-songwriter Annette Esquenet, whose captivating solo performances have been wowing audiences throughout the Wellington region, will be opening the show.
Steph Casey performed songs from the new album on RNZ National's "NZ Live" show with Jesse Mulligan in August and was interviewed on TV3’s The Café breakfast show. She has just returned form a five-week tour of the United States where she performed in Nashville, the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, and historic Plymouth, Indiana.
