London in the 1660s, King Charles II has come to the throne with a love of all things loud, extravagant and sexy. At the theatre in Drury Lane a young Nell Gwynn, one of the first actresses on the English stage, is causing stirrings amongst theatre goers. She catches Charles’ wandering eye.
