Join us for this mini-series which will explore some of the inspiring organisations, businesses and people of Christchurch. We live in an increasingly creative and evolving city where groups and individuals are tackling some of the biggest issues of our time in new and innovative ways. Each term we will hear from a selection of people /organisations about the work that they do and the innovative twist(s) they bring to their fields.
This term we focus on waste and will hear from those at the front line who are tackling this growing societal issue and visit the incredible Living Earth recycling centre to discover more about organic waste and it’s processing.
18 Nov - 11.15 am - 2.30 pm, Bus Trip to Living Earth - Meet at WEA and go by bus to visit the organics recycling plant. Find out from the team there what happens to the contents of your green bin and what to do and not to do! Bring your own lunch. The bus will return everyone to WEA in advance of 2.30pm. Please wear closed toe shoes and suitable outside gear.
25 Nov 0 12 – 1 pm, Our Daily Waste - diverting waste from landfill through sorting and education with Sharon McIver.
2 Dec 12 – 1 pm, Creative Junk - the ultimate place for rethinking, reusing and recycling! Find out about this incredible longstanding social enterprise with their co-ordinator Christine.
