Inamojo is a holistic Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) wellbeing program for children ages 5 to 8. Our unique programs help to empower children with life-tools and life-skills for lifelong wellbeing. Peek inside a class and you will see the children wiping away dragon sneeze with feathers or moving like wolves. They may be creating art in a magic circle or reaching up like trees.

Inamojo is based on the eastern integrative ‘map’ of the chakra system, together with Jungian psychology and a variety of contemporary Early Childhood Development theories. Weaving original music and stories with mindful practices such as meditation, breath awareness, expressive movement and art, Inamojo nurtures children on an inner journey of self-enquiry, self-discovery, and self- expression.

In Australia, Inamojo is an approved program on the federal government's new National Education Initiative, called "Be You", to support positive mental health and wellbeing in schools.

The program comprises 9 x one-hour lessons. The format is the same each week (so children become familiar with it) but each week offers different life-lessons and life-skills.

Format: Story, Dance, Mandala Art, Discussion
Introductory Class: Introducing the characters and storyline.
Red class: Learning to trust instincts
Orange class: Learning to cope with, express, emotions
Yellow class: Explores self-esteem, confidence, courage
Green class: Addresses jealousy, compassion, love
Blue class: Effective communication, assertiveness
Indigo class: Explores imagination, dreams, and goals
Violet class: Self-awareness, thinking, meta-cognition
Integration class: Revisits key elements of the program

This first 9-class series is woven around the story of a friendly dragon called Naga, who unfortunately has forgotten who he is. Class by class, the children help him to remember, while learning important lessons about themselves along the way.

Classes will commence on Wednesday October 16th through to December 18th with no class during Heritage Week as the space is not available (October 30th). Classes will be held in the Community Room at Petone Library

Cost $100 for 9 classes - Payment to be made either by direct deposit in cash prior to commencement of the program.
