What is Photo Marathon?
Photo Marathons are photography competitions with a twist. Participants meet at a set time at a fixed location. At the start time of the event, three themes will be announced, and the participants will have 3 hours to interpret those themes and produce three images. The interpretation of the themes is left up to the photographer, and the object of the competition is to capture images that best express the themes in the set time. The idea is to be creative, provoke thoughts and have fun.
Photo Marathons have been popular around the world for many years, and Accelerate Photo-Agency (APA) are hosting this unique event that anyone of any age can participate in. All you need is a camera (DSLR, Digital Camera, Cell Phone or Analogue Camera), some creative thinking and the willingness to enjoy the experience in New Zealand. All images are uploaded via this website and then displayed for people to vote on and choose the winner, and various prizes will be given to the winners of each category.
The participants can capture as many images as they want, but only one image per theme can be submitted. Entries will be judged by peoples choice, professional photographers and a judging panel.
