Simply put, it is a fantastic family race that appeals to all ages, abilities, genders and walks of life.
Whatever level of rider you are, the Pass2Pub will provide you with a challenge. There are two events. The 36km classic and the P2P Mini 20km.
If you want to go flat out, it does require good fitness and technical skills. But if you want to make the Pass2Pub into a family adventure or a work challenge, anyone can complete the ride at a leisurely pace, and it is not too physically demanding.
You still need some fitness, but most people who know how to ride a bike can enjoy the thrill of competing and finishing.
And great news - it is mostly downhill - the race starts at Burkes Pass (545m above sea level) and ends at the Albury Pub (just 238m above sea level). Ok, there are a couple of moderate hills, but after all, this is a mountain bike race.
There are literally hundreds of prizes that everyone who enters has a chance to win. This year, some of the spot prizes will be allocated as you finish. In 2013 we have introduced some new prizes.
You can try for the best fancy dress rider and win some great biking gear, but you’ll have to be good, as the standards are high.
We also have special prizes for the oldest and youngest rider to complete the course. And special race categories for tandems, retro bikes (no shocks, no front or rear suspension and no clip in pedals) and for single speed bikes (no gears).
Of course, one of the best things about the Pass2Pub is the after-race party. This is when you can kick back and enjoy great Mackenzie Country hospitality and southern sunshine. After the race get together with your mates or family, swap stories from the trail or cheer on the finishers.
There is music, a mobile playground and other activities for the younger kids, a sumptuous BBQ and of course plenty of liquid refreshments. You can also check out the latest offerings from some of our sponsors.
So don't wait any longer, enter the Pass2Pub today.
