All are welcome (children need to be cyclewise and under supervision of a responsible adult). Ordinary city bike is fine for this ride.
We’ll ride the recently opened Passchendaele Memorial Path which is a shared walk-cycle path connecting Rangiora and Kaiapoi (8km) having brunch/coffee at Rangiora (Artisan) Bakery before we head back to Kaiapioi again - https://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/north-canterbury/101124303/passchendaele-memorial-path-all-but-finished
Meeting point: Scott Rose Garden in Trousselot Park, Charles Street, Kaiapoi
Start: 10:45am - This will give people the opportunity to go to the Kaiapoi RSA Service at 10am if they wish (also in Trousselot Park).
You are also welcome to just pedal one-way and take the bus the other way. We expect to arrive at Rangiora Bakery, 18 High St around 12pm and depart again around 1-1:30pm.
Please see http://metroinfo.co.nz/journeyplanner/index.html?region=christchurch#/journey_plans/new if you plan to take your bike to to/from Kaiapoi or Rangiora by bus 95 or Blue Line.
Please comment on facebook event page to let people know if you have space for an extra rider and their bike.
Dress theme (optional): Poppies! Here’s how you can make your own: https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Tissue-Paper-Poppies
If the weather is decidedly nasty on the day this event will be cancelled. See the Facebook event page for updates on the day.
Hope to see you and your friends and family for a few enjoyable hours of cycling.
