Proudly presented by L’Oréal Paris, the seventh Alliance Française French Film Festival is returning to Christchurch screens from 28 February to 10 March 2013. The festival is the prime French cultural event and one of the largest film festivals in New Zealand. After successfully tripling attendance figures in 2012, the festival is targeting another 30% increase in 2013 with up to 500 screenings.
Screening in eleven cities nationwide, the festival offers a comprehensive programme of French cinema at its best. The ambitious film selection presents a mix of hard-hitting drama and comedy, alongside themed categories and films for children.
The festival will be a true celebration of French cinema which demonstrates the development of the art form and its significant contribution to the international film industry. Similarly it will be an ideal opportunity to screen films which might not otherwise be brought to New Zealand, appealing to both ‘francophiles’ and ‘cinephiles’ alike.
