Your place for finding information and resources to help you with your settlement process.
Coming to live in New Zealand might be exciting and interesting but there are also so many things that are unique about the country and difficult to understand or navigate. We realise that simple things can become time-consuming and frustrating in a new place, particularly for people who come from a non-English speaking background, and we want to support you in the process of finding your feet.
The Waikato Migrant Resource Centre also operates as a community centre. It is a place where people from all cultures and backgrounds are welcome, and where newcomers and locals can interact.
The Centre is operated in a partnership between the Hamilton Multicultural Services Trust and the Waikato Ethnic Council. A number of community organisations base their settlement services at the WMRC, and there is also input into the life of the Centre from Government agencies and the City Council.
