This feature-packed festival is your opportunity to get fully immersed in the best of our food and drink scene in a fun-filled afternoon or evening. Spend a day on Auckland’s iconic waterfront, dining on signature dishes from some of our best restaurants. Get up close and personal with your favourite chefs, taste your way through amazing wines, craft beers and cocktails. Discover new treats, try one of our interactive classes or luxuriate in a VIP experience.
New festival themes to explore include Spice Alley, Ocean Terrace, The Shed and Decadence Collective, showcasing signature dishes from some of Auckland’s most exciting restaurants, and gourmet treats, condiments, fine wines and chef favourites just waiting to be discovered.
New on this year’s restaurant line-up are Ponsonby newcomer Epicer, serving up modern Indian cuisine by Michelin starred chef Manjunath Mural, the bustling inner city Hugo’s Bistro, and Herne Bay favourite Andiamo. Also making an appearance for the first time are waterfront seafood eatery the Crab Shack and Collab Kitchen, a collaboration led by chef Nick Honeyman of Paris Butter, Josh Barlow ex Sugar Club, Hayden McMillan ex Etta of Melbourne, Lucas Parkinson from Ode in Wanaka, Phil Clark of Phil’s Kitchen.
Also joining the line-up are Nanam, Oyster & Chop and a special Sashimi Bar created by the clever team at &Sushi.
Kyle Street and Jordan MacDonald return for the second year with Culprit and their fresh and seasonal take on fast food at Lowbrow. Also making a return with new inspired dishes are popular Asian fusion eatery Xoong with chef Cameron Knox and oyster specialists Shucker Brothers. A return of the Gourmet Hāngi by The Maori Kitchen brings this year’s pop-up restaurant tally to 13, including nine that are new to the festival.
From further afield, one of the biggest names in the global culinary scene, Marco Pierre White, is a special guest at New Zealand’s largest food festival. If you’d like to see Marco at the festival, we’d recommend you purchase a ticket to Friday Evening (Session 3), Saturday Afternoon (Session 4) or Saturday Evening (Session 5) session of Taste.
Sip away the heat with an ice cold beer or a crisp glass of wine as you enjoy live music from Anna Coddington, Laughton Kora, Two Many Chiefs, Mister Speaker and more on the Main Stage.
