Dance music lovers are in for a trip down memory lane with the return of the sell-out hit show Synthony in 2019! Combining the best of electronic dance music with the full might of classical orchestra, plus guest appearances by some of New Zealand’s musical legends, the show will transform grand locations around the country into dance parties like no other.
For the first time, the show will go beyond its Auckland roots to Christchurch, Wellington, and Hamilton, teaming up with local artists and orchestras to bring this incredible performance to more Kiwi dance music fans than ever.
Synthony is no ordinary orchestra performance. A curated show of lights, lasers, and a state of the art sound system, not to mention a full stage of musicians and DJs, Sythony will have you on your feet, hands in the air, dancing as you journey through the last three decades of club classics.
The magic of Synthony is that the musical line-up is a tightly held secret, so the audience are in for a surprise at each show - past shows have featured arrangements of tunes by Fatboy Slim, Delirium and Robert Miles to name a few.
The shows in all locations will be conducted by Peter Thomas, with the tunes mixed and hosted by George FM DJ General Lee, and featuring vocalists Kings, Helen Corry, Jenny B (Corona), and Cherie Mathieson.
The tour kicks off on the 6th September at Christchurch’s newly opened Town Hall, with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and special guest DJs Craig Shaw, Greg Churchill, and Lewis McCullum (Saxophone).
The Auckland Town Hall will hold two shows on the 20th & 21st of September - both Auckland shows sold out in a matter of hours last year! The lineup will feature the Auckland Symphony Orchestra, plus DJs Greg Churchill, Grant Marshall, and Lewis McCullum (Saxophone).
Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena will host Synthony on October 12th, with DJs Grant Marshall and Dick Johnson in addition to the full lineup, plus Lewis McCullum on saxophone.
And for the grand finale, Wellington’s TSB Arena will host the biggest show ever on October 25th, with Orchestra Wellington plus DJ legends Dick Johnson and Greg Churchill.
