South London new-wave warriors, Squeeze, have finally locked in NZ dates for their critically-acclaimed 'The Songbook' tour, performing a trio of shows in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington this February 2020. After wrapping up their NZ dates, the group will be touring across Australia to play a series of concerts happening in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
Known for their timeless tracks like 'Cool For Cats', 'Tempted', 'Up The Junction', 'Another Nail in My Heart', 'Sunday Street' and 'Labelled with Love', Squeeze are definitely a trailblazing ensemble of the '70s and '80s. It was their groundbreaking hit 'Take Me I’m Yours' that shot them up to fame, captivating hearts from all over the world. Majority of their songs were composed by legendary tunesmiths Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook—with each amassing a catalogue of top-selling records both as Squeeze members and solo artists.
"I am over the moon to be announcing the 2020 tour with Squeeze," says Glenn. "We've had something of a renaissance in the last few years, and look forward to this continuing, as we will play a set of songs that are new, contemporary and as innovative as people have come to expect from us, along with the old beauties."
With two critically-acclaimed albums in the past three years, and a live show that has seen them headline numerous festivals in the UK, "something of a renaissance" seems like an understatement. Apart from playing Squeeze's extensive list of new-wave anthems, Difford and Tilbrook will also include a lineup of brand new songs and other songwriting gems from their exceptional solo careers.
Don't miss your chance to catch Squeeze and their scintillating live performances next summer!
