Yukon Era are a young four-piece garage punk band from Auckland’s North Shore consisting of singer Christian Dimick, guitarist Lachie Thurlow, bassist Pierre Beasley and drummer James Thorrington.
They released their self titled debut EP in February which received wide acclaim locally and overseas and have caught the attention of 95bFm, Vice’s Noisey, Tone Deaf, Radio NewZealand and Under The Radar.
“Five songs of spirited and shambolic garage-rock that come wrapped in a kind of Libertines-ish charm” - The Wireless
Their songs are energetic, gritty and melodic all in one, capturing a fervently modern but stubborn-
ly classic garage rock sound.
Their singles ‘Leash’, ‘Daily Judgement’ and ‘Vietnam Man’ have all had success across alternative radio, and the band are regular live guests on Auckland’s 95bFM.
Despite the fact that all members of the band are still in their teens, Yukon Era are no stranger to the New Zealand touring circuit. Since their formation in 2015, they have supported acts like Mac Demarco, Viet Cong, METZ and Mini Mansions.
Yukon Era are currently working on a follow-up EP, due out later this year, and will be the first release on new label Morningstar Records. The first track ‘Consume + Scratch’ will be released digitally and on a limited edition USB which will be available exclusively at their shows following release.
