Dictaphone Blues are three lads that love a bit of a knees up and a tickle of clobber. Releasing their debut album, On The Down And In, through Universal in April 2009 they promptly sold out of the first run and received backslapping reviews from critics and fans alike. They have toured NZ several times and graced the stage memorably with Okkervil River, The New Pornographers, Liam Finn, Lawrence Arabia and Pains of Being Pure at Heart. In 2012 they released their second album, Beneath The Crystal Palace. The band describe their sophomore offering as a psychedelic pop dreamscape with tales of friendship, heartache, technological Armageddon and inner peace.
