Les Voisins (‘Neighbours’) is a coming together of worlds, neighbours and friends. In this concert, Justine Cormack (violin), James Bush (cello) and Juan Carlos de Mulder (theorbo & guitars) take us to a “Hot Club in Paris” in which three centuries of French music mix and converse.
The baroque theorbo opens this concert, its plucked sounds evoking heaven’s angels. Violin and cello join in to explore layers of the rich and intensely emotional world of the French baroque. The result: tenderness, colour and verve.
