Too Many Chiefs: Wayne Mason (Warratahs/ Fourmyula), Rob Joass (Hobnail), Laura Collins (Back Porch Blues Band) and Andrew London (Hot Club Sandwich, Cattlestops etc) collaborate in a two hour show that celebrates the very best of Kiwi songwriting and performance in styles from slinky jazz and raunchy blues to driving country and contemplative folk.
Collins’ mournful ballads sit next to London’s whimsical tracks, Joass’ country-Americana and Wayne Mason’s classicism. Each person supports the other, instruments are swapped and you can feel the level of enjoyment they get from playing with each other, and the combined years of experience shows.
Too Many Chiefs will be bringing tunes from their recent release “So Many Tracks,” amongst others, to the Whakaipo Lodge Winter Concert. Expect a celebration of songwriting, more wit than you can poke a stick at and a great afternoon’s entertainment.
Join us in the winter marquee in the beautiful grounds of Whakaipo Lodge.
