Morning People Christchurch Launch Party
Featuring Jamie Newman
Hold on to your party pants Christchurch, morning raves have landed!
Four years, 150 parties and 10,000 partygoers later, now it’s Ōtautahi’s turn to experience the magic of Morning People. Remix your working week and get amongst those famous Morning People vibes on one of the most-high energy and diverse dancefloors you can find yourself on. From 6:30am – 8:00am on a work-day, this is efficient partying of the highest order.
Some of New Zealand and the world’s best DJs have graced the Morning People decks and sing the praises of pre-work partying, including heavyweights Freq Nasty (US/NZ), The Correspondents (UK), Nico Stojan (DE), Djuma Soundsystem (NOR), The Upbeats (NZ/UK), Sambora (Shapeshifter), Dick Johnson, Greg Churchill, Weird Together, Dan Aux, Out of Sorts, Sin and Aroha.
The Morning People vibe has to be experienced to be believed. But don’t take our word for it – here’s what our DJs say:
“The crowd was more wild than any night time club gig I've played!” DJ Teto
“That was easily the most fun I’ve had DJing anywhere this year.” Jay Bulletproof, (Music for the People, ex. George FM night-time host)
“Never thought I’d have another “oh I get it now!” moment with dance music. But there you go - had one this morning. I have to say that that was one of the most fun sets I've ever played.” The Dastardly Bounder (co-founder, Splore festival)
“The Morning People dancefloor is a sacred space” Dan Aux (George FM Drive Host)
Direct from Auckland, Morning People co-founder and party-starter Jamie Newman will be on DJ duties. Your morning will be in good hands - with over 20 years of DJing under his belt, he’s played in forests, on beaches, in clubs, on the airwaves, and at some of New Zealand’s and the world’s most iconic festivals - including Splore, The Gathering, 121 Festival and USA’s Burning Man.
In true Morning People fashion, big-breakfast sized helpings of house and techno will be served alongside complimentary coffee, fruit, juice and the Amazonian plant-power of Club-Mate NZ.
So set your alarm, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to have your mornings remixed.
