Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.
This course starts on 27 July 2020 with classes running 7 - 9 PM over eight Mondays.
Join artist and educator Maureen Lewis for this exploration of the human form. Learn basic anatomy, learn how to draw both realistically and gesturally from photos and later from live models (clothed). All materials are included within the course fee.
During this course the group will explore ways to draw people. Beginning with drawing from a photograph, you'll move on to drawing from life. You'll learn techniques for drawing realistically, then move in to move expressive drawing.
You'll use a variety of drawing materials including pencil, charcoal and coloured pencils and pastels. Simple guiding principles, combined with the endless variation of the human form will provide for an exciting and satisfying drawing experience.
For the final two classes, a model (clothed) will pose for drawing from life.

What to bring?: Just yourself - all materials ($25) are included within the course fee.
Who should attend? This course caters for both absolute beginners and those who have already attended beginners drawing classes.
