Nicky's talk is of particular relevance to those with breathing related conditions including asthma, hay fever, snoring, sleep apnoea, nasal congestion, chronic cough/throat clearing, anxiety, panic, migraine, hypertension or impaired sporting or speaking performance.
Nicky will bust some widespread myths regarding breathing. Topics covered include breathing awareness, functional and dysfunctional breathing - signs and symptoms, over-breathing, breathing/stress and your nervous system, the importance of carbon dioxide and the effect of breathing on craniofacial development.
She will also explore the link between breathing and diet, sleep, metabolism, concentration, behaviour, physical exercise and speaking/singing. Nicky will introduce some breathing exercises including how to measure your breathing health and how to pull out of the cycle of nasal congestion.
