Take the Woodville Wanderer through the Manawatu Gorge, view the magnificence of the gorge from the safety of the railway track.
On the other side, you will see the area at the southern end that has resulted in the Manawatu Gorge being closed to traffic. The Manawatu Standard reported on the 14th September 2017 the slip 170 times bigger than the slip in 2011 that closed the gorge for a year is imminent.
Once through the Gorge, it’s on to Woodville where buses will take you (no charge) into the township where you will find all businesses and cafes open, most with special offers.
You will receive an information pack on the train from Woodville Ambassadors who will tell you about their great little town. Join in the fun, wear a different style of hat – and be in to win “The Mad Hatters Hat Competition”!
