Renowned folk-rock artist Ben Harper and his band The Innocent Criminals are set to hit NZ for six spellbinding concerts. They'll be playing New Plymouth, Christchurch, Queentown, Auckland, Napier and Mt Maunganui in February next year. Performing as their special guest is award-winning indie-rock muso, Matt Corby.
A three-time Grammy Award-winner and seven-time nominee, Ben Harper is without question one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of our generation. He has traversed a myriad of musical landscapes in the three decades that he's been making music—from blues, rock and reggae to soul, funk and folk. He's released 14 studio albums, including 'Burn To Shine' (1999), 'Diamonds On The Inside' (2003), 'There Will Be Light' (2004), 'Childhood Home' (2014) as well as his latest 'No Mercy In This Land' (2018) with blues legendary singer, Charlie Musselwhite.
Harper's trusty band have been with him for much of the journey. Tracing their roots back to 1993, The Innocent Criminals (whose members are Leon Mobley, Juan Nelson, and Oliver Charles) have been involved in most of his projects. The band have toured the globe nonstop, earning legions of fans—thanks to their explosive live performances. With much-acclaimed support acts yet to be announced, the band's upcoming NZ tour is one not to be missed.
