About Water Fasting
Water fasting has been used since ancient times to cleanse, heal and rest the body. Weight loss is just one of the benefits of water fasting, but physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing often arises through allowing the body to rest fully.
When you stop eating in a mindful way, all the energy that is normally used to process food is now used for flushing toxins out of your system and boost the natural healing mechanism of your own body.
Water fasting is a beautiful way for nature to reset your body so that your own body heals itself.
Water fasting may seem hard, especially on your own, which is why I run water fasting retreats with groups or individuals. I focus on rest, rejuvenation and respect for your body.
Fasting and Re-feeding
I include days for re-feeding so you gently come out of the fast and maintain the benefits of the fast whilst getting your body ready to eat again. Re-feeding consists of broths and low GI fruit, at structured times.
Activities (included in retreat price - optional based on your energy levels)
To aid in the fast and make it seem quicker, I structure the day with yoga, daily walks and meditation on the beach. We also have sharing circles and starlight rituals, sea-cleansing rituals and informative talks.
Depending on your energy levels, I can tailor the retreat to make your detox-rejuvenation as powerful as you wish.

You'll stay waterfront, with the full sweep of 90 Mile Beach and Ahipara Shipwreck Bay visible. Surrounded by beach, ocean, the most stunning vistas in front, hilltop with mature plantings behind, and the milky way starry sky above, we have a range of accommodation options, from glamping, to single or double occupancy rooms. Bathrooms are shared.
