Get up close and personal with a vintage hand-crank sewing machine in this workshop at Alberton! In the grand ballroom, expert Gracie Mathews will guide you through the process on her antique Singer sewing machines.
You'll have a machine of your own to make a beautiful, oldy-worldly linens/delicates/gift bag with trimmings! Inspiring lace and fabric offcuts and other salvaged vintage pieces will be provided with lots of flexibility for you to bring your ideas into the design. Create something for yourself or a special, handmade Christmas gift.
The class is suitable for absolute beginners with no sewing experience and those at an intermediate level. Gracie will work with all participants to assist them and for there are other projects to tackle for anyone who speeds through the first one.
The 2-hour class is followed by tea & scones served from vintage china. Tickets include Alberton admission so you can explore the house before or after the class. Bring a friend and enjoy a fun, crafty day reviving traditional handicrafts!
Bookings essential as places limited to 10 participants. To book contact Alberton at firstname.lastname@example.org or (09) 8467367.
