Scottish Born Folk Blues icon Ma Bell brings her travelling Pop-Up Acoustic Cabaret Road show - Le Cabaret De La Vie back to Selwyn for the final show of the 2020 Series.
Le Cabaret De La Vie hosted by Madame Tragedie offers an intimate theatrical style acoustic cabaret featuring a selection of top-line Independent musicians/performance artists from the world of Jazz and Blues in an atmosphere echoing the bygone eras of Parisian Cabaret, Hot Smoking Blues Clubs, & Vaudevillian Music Hall Theatre.
Ma Bell's guests include Swing 42 - a quartet made up of the jazz mafia including Selwyn resident Bob Heinz, Keith Petch, Rueben Derrick and Mike Kime. Boogie House a 5 piece band led by Harry Harrison featuring the fabulous vocals of frontman Steve Driver will have you on your feet with their funky New Orleans R & B Boogie Sounds.
Blues Mama's Izzy Miller Bell and two-time 'Gore Golden Guitar' award winner Susan Grant set the scene for the evening as Mamas got the Blues. They will be joined by John Bevin on the keyboard along with impromptu invited guests. This will be a night of surprises as 12 of Canterbury's top musicians come together for the Xmas musical gathering of the year.
