Explore contemporary abstract painting with artist Grace Wright. Open to all levels of experience, you will be guided through methods of abstracting the image along with individual mentoring to help craft a unique practice. Through exploring different painting processes, from geometric through to organic this class pushes the boundaries of paint and investigates what it means to paint today.
Learn a variety of skills including how to stretch your own canvases. Students will be exposed to a wide range of international/local artists and writing resulting in lively class discussion.
About the tutor:
Grace Wright is practicing artist and an MFA student at Elam School of Fine Arts at Auckland University. Since graduating she has held multiple exhibitions around the country gaining a strong reputation in the process. She is represented by Parlour Projects where she was the 2017 recipient of their inaugural Artist-in-residence programme.
