Do you want a tattoo that even your mum would be proud of? Then mark your calendars folks! Native New Zealand bird conservation is an issue which needs support, and what better way to help our feathered friends than wearing them as a tattoo?
ExtINKtion is a project which aims to bring people together for a worthy cause, who will then use their tattoos to communicate the issue to others. You'll be a walking, talking exhibit for conservation in New Zealand.
We will be open from 11am, with free entry. There will be posters and temp-tats available to purchase, as well as kindly donated beer from Garage Project, for those who wants to take part without a tattoo. All proceeds will be donated to our friends at Zealandia and Forest and Bird, whose representatives will be joining us to provide information about their organisations and how the community can help.
How do you get one?
Artists from Kakapo Ink will be tattooing ‘flash’ (pre-drawn designs) on the day, which will range from $100 to $120 depending on size. We have limited slots throughout the day, which are first in first served. But fear not, if you miss out you can purchase ExtINKtion tattoo vouchers, redeemable at Kakapo Ink within the next 6 months! These vouchers will only be available on the day of the event.
Once you have booked your slot you're free to hang out and enjoy the event! The team at The Hudson will have coffee, food and drinks to keep you busy while you wait, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, and tattoos will be out of sight for those who do not wish to view this part of the event.
Alcohol shouldn't be consumed before having a tattoo, so please keep this in mind if you are planning on getting one!
Tattoos will not be given to people under 18 yrs.
See you there!
