Oceania Storm is a 10 piece band originally formed in 2006, Ranui, West Auckland. The name was given by the church minister of the church, of which some band members attend.
Oceania refers to our origin; coming from the small Pacific Islands in the large Pacific Ocean, and Storm which refers to the common storms that come and go in the Pacific Islands.
The band consists of have 4 vocalists (3 males and 1 female) who share a part at being lead throughout the performance. Each brings their own unique harmony and vocal range. Joining our line up are professional musicians Richard “Rico” Tali and Lisate “Richie” Langi. “Rico” woos the crowd with his sweet sounding flute and saxophone (he’s also known to sing a song or two and jam along on the guitar), and “Richie” keeps us in time by banging out the beats on the drums. Offstage, we have our own Sound Engineer and complimentary DJ for in between sets.
We have released two albums; "Weekend Mode" and "Struggle & Strife". Both are available on http://www.amplifier.co.nz/ and can be listened to on our website.
We are currently working on our 3rd album due for release post-summer 2011.
