The 54th National Concerto Competition Final is on sale now.
Join us and see the talents of tomorrow.
The National Concerto Competition is an exhilarating ride for a special group of New Zealand’s best young instrumentalists, right here in Christchurch.
The journey began last October when 35 young hopefuls made the Competition shortlist. At the prelims they became six, and at the semis became three.
The journey ends on Saturday 6 March with the biggest event of their lives: the 54th National Concerto Competition Grand Final at the fully-restored James Hay Theatre.
In a dazzling night of artistry, our three young finalists each take to the stage performing a solo concerto with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
April Ju, Christchurch (violin) playing Sibelius
Hyein Kim, Auckland (cello) playing Prokofiev
Catherine Kwak, Auckland (cello) playing Dvorak
Over $15,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs, bestowed live on the night by our judges Roger Brown and Malavika Gopal.
Be part of the excitement as New Zealand’s next classical music star is born. Book your tickets today and get ready to be wowed.
