Fresh from their big shows at Meow in December last year, and September this year, the Zimmermans have decided their time in rock and roll rehab was well served. The eight men and women who make up this band are once again ready to strap on their guitars, trumpets and drum sticks and take the audience on a journey to the land of Dylan. These musos have travelled long and hard dusty roads to the plains of the Minnesota bard from such sources as the Mockers, Dunstan Rangers, The Wooden Box Band, Let’s Planet and Sneaky Feelings. Their two hour September show at Meow became a standing-room-only event with the crowd providing rabble rousing choruses to the likes of Rolling Stone and Rainy Day Women. When did you last hear 300 voices chanting “everybody must get stoned”?
Prepare to go from folk to rock to blues and back again as the band hammers its way through some of the most well known and occasional obscure gems from the man who invented his own music genre. They even include a track from the latest Bob record - no not the quarter of an hour long Murder Most Foul. Doors open at the gig 6.30 and band starts sharp 7.30 pm. $25 on the door or buy online here.
