Northcote College Year 13 Drama Presents:
An exploration of Love, in all its seasons.
When Auckland went back into lockdown for a second time, we were part way through the rehearsal process for a production. While events and shows were being cancelled left, right and centre, we made the decision to evolve. We wanted a production that could be worked on in isolation and weaved together when we were able to safely return to the rehearsal space together.
LOVE, ALONE was born during a time of physical distancing. The series of monologues and ensemble interludes explore the need for human connection. LOVE, ALONE highlights the fun, the sadness, the joy and the heartache of being a human.
This production is a visual smorgasbord, with beautiful use of technology to compliment the humour and pathos of the wonderful performance work.
Assuming (!) the easing of current gathering restrictions, as signalled by the government, we are good to go for a show...We are delighted to avert the need to live stream this work and to instead offer intimate reduced capacity shows to allow us to connect (safely) in a shared space. To ensure we have enough capacity we are offering two shows a night...
