Founded in 2013 at the Royal College of Music, London, the Marmen Quartet were winners of 2018 Royal Overseas League Competition, received the Grand Prize in the 2019 Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition and winners of the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition. These competitions are important achievements for young musicians as they also give mentoring, concert opportunities and management support to launch their careers. The Marmen Quartet is emerging as one of the most interesting voices on the scene.
The Christopher’s Classics programme, founded by Christopher Marshall, has become a mainstay of the Christchurch chamber music scene, showcasing some of New Zealand’s finest musicians.
