Chess for Kids (6-12 years old)

Chess is one of the world's greatest games - and it has been around a long time. The first recorded game using the rules we play with today was played in 1475.

Chess teaches us about strategy, logic, planning, clear thinking under pressure and patience. It is also a huge amount of fun and a great way to make new friends! It is a game that teaches qualities we need today.

Chess for kids is designed to help your kids have fun, learn the game and just perhaps become New Zealand's next chess grandmaster!

Our teachers are trained to teach chess and really look forward to teaching your kids.

The classes are free but a donation is appreciated. So come along, no matter whether complete beginners or a bit more advanced.
