The live music scene in Marlborough has always been a vibrant and sophisticated one. In its most recent form, jazz arrived with the Jazz-men (Robin Randall and Peter Bargh) taking their music to the public at the Marlborough Farmers Market. Combining with Tony and Coral Thiel and Heather Jameson, the well-known “Jazz at the Boathouse” sessions brought a range of jazz to local audiences.
“Carbaret Jazz” brings prominent jazz bands and musicians together to deliver a programme of unforgettable jazz. From well-known jazz standards to jazz funk and the sheer power of big band jazz, there’s something for everyone in “Cabaret Jazz”. Showcasing the talents of musicians from their teens to their 90’s you will be taken on a journey from New Orleans to New York, Brazil to Cuba, leaving you with those delightful medical afflictions ‘tapping foot’ and ‘smiling face’.
