Remarkably Funny presents Queenstown's original and only regular comedy night, at Yonder (nominated for Best Comedy Venue, NZ Comedy Guild Awards, 2019). The show is now fortnightly and features a revolving line up of the best local comedians and occasional visitors from around NZ and the world. This February and March we're also proud to present the Otago Raw Comedy Quest 2020, in association with Dunedin Comedy. The Raw Comedy Quest is NZ's premier competition for amateur comedians, and we're stoked to be presenting an Otago leg for the first time.*
On March 3rd we're hosting Semifinal 1 of the Quest, with MC Darren A Hill and semi-finalists Meghan McGill and Sean Tinker of Wānaka and Lawrence Montague, Liam Collins, Maggie Rogers, Megan Cartwright and Shane Mulvey of Queenstown. They'll be bringing their A game to compete for spots in the Otago finals in Dunedin, with the Otago winner going on to the national finals in Auckland. Tickets for the semifinal will be $10, rather than $5 as for the heats and our regular open mic nights. Note: this event will also be professionally photographed, including some crowd shots.
On March 17th (and every 2 weeks after that), our regular open mic night is back.
Tickets for both shows (March 3rd and 17th) are on sale now. This show has sold out 15 times in a row, so buy your tickets now and avoid missing out. Note that the venue has a mix of seated and standing spaces, and a ticket doesn't guarantee you a seat (let us know if you really need a seat and we’ll reserve you a spot). Doors open 8pm, show starts 8:30 sharp. We recommend getting there early to get a good spot.
Show contains adult content. Under 18s may attend with parental guidance and supervision
We're always looking for new comedians! If you'd like to try comedy, get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
*Last year Otago was included as an off-shoot of the Christchurch based leg of the competition.
Note: this event will also be professionally photographed, including some crowd shots.
