Everybody knows Vivaldi’s evergreen portrait of the changing round of the year. Less well known is the take on it by the Argentinian tango maestro Astor Piazzolla, who would have been celebrating his 100th birthday in 2021. Hearing a Vivaldi season juxtaposed against a Piazzolla one illuminates both in surprising ways. Andrew Beer, doing double duty as soloist and director, takes us once around the sun.
