Kia ora koutou katoa,
We are excited to announce this year’s Animal Rights March in Wellington City!
On the 28th of November 2020, caring New Zealanders from around the country will march on the streets of Te Whanganui-a-Tara to demand justice for all animals.
We will march (and drive) from Te Papa and congregate at parliament grounds, where we will listen to a number of passionate animal advocates. We aim to empower the movement in the fight against systemic oppression of nonhuman beings.
Millions of animal victims needlessly suffer and die every year in Aotearoa. This includes the animals bred to be slaughtered and sold for profit; those who are experimented upon; those who are not native to this land; the animals tortured in the name of entertainment; and so many more for whom we stand.
We may have differing approaches, but what unites New Zealanders is our commitment to change for the better. We care deeply for each other and the companion animals in our lives--let us extend this compassion to all the animals of Aotearoa. Let us lead the way in creating a world where the lives of animals are valued, respected and protected from injustice.
Animal voices risk being lost in the noise of 2020. It’s been a hard year for us all--including non-human creatures, who, like us, feel pain, love, fear, and joy. Let us lend our voices to those whose cries are muffled behind factory walls and industry propaganda.
After all, can we truly call ourselves a kind and compassionate people while so many animals suffer?
Bring your friends, your placards and your passion!

We aim to make this march as accessible as possible, with the inclusion of vehicles during the march and stewards to look out for the safety of those attending. If there is anything we can do to better accommodate your needs, please get in touch and we’ll do our very best to make it happen.***
