NZ Barok has postponed its Viva Vivaldi! concerts at St. Luke’s Church, Remuera until 1-2 May 2021 and Hark, Sweet Music until 2-3 Oct 2021. NZ Barok’s response to Corona virus (COVID-19): The health and welfare of our audience, musicians and communities is of the utmost importance to NZ Barok. We are monitoring and managing any potential risks, and updating our procedures as needed. Subscriptions to both concerts now close on 1 April 2021.

Join NZ Barok in May as the full orchestra and guest vocalists create a sumptuous concert of Italian music by Corelli and Vivaldi including Vivaldi’s famous Gloria for voices, strings, and trumpets. Featuring sopranos Jayne Tankersley and Rowena Simpson, altos Helen Acheson and Jessica Wells, tenors Lachlan Craig and Harry Grigg and basses Chalium Poppy and Alex Matangi.

NZ Barok thanks Auckland Council, Dragon Community Trust, Pub Charity, Four Winds Foundation, Dame Jenny Gibbs, The Wallace Foundation and The Lion Foundation for their generous support of NZ Baroks’ 2020-2021 Subscription Series.

Comprising leading baroque specialists from all over New Zealand, NZ Barok performs using instruments and playing styles of the period, breathing fresh life and vitality into baroque and classical masterpieces and lesser-known musical treasures from the 18th century.
