Learn practical skills for building a career as an actor with experienced actor and casting director Adam Gardiner. Discover the different skills required for jobbing actors in New Zealand.

The jobbing actor must have a broad understanding of the different mediums in which the actor works and the different skills required by each medium.

This course will focus on practical lessons in audition technique, scene work, preparation and play, so students will feel confident and empowered once they step into a rehearsal room, onto a set, or behind a microphone.

Teaching artist Adam Gardiner is an actor and voice artist who, for the last 20 plus years, has been working in stage, screen, radio and games. Adam’s live performance credits include extensive work for Auckland Theatre Company, Silo Theatre, Raewyn Hill Dance & Nightsong Productions. His screen credits include local and international productions, most recently Shortland Street, The Luminaries, Agent Anna & The Brokenwood Mysteries. A full list of credits can be found on IMDB. Behind the camera Adam works as a casting director for Reel World Casting and is the voice of numerous commercials, monsters and aliens.
