This workshop is for businesses, innovators and marketers as well as technologists to apply augmented reality and mixed reality (AR/MR).
Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality – why should I care?
The workshop is for business decision-makers and marketeers who have heard about Augmented and Mixed Reality and need to understand how best to leverage these new media to maximum effect, ahead of competitors. We will touch on VR, but the focus is on AR and MR in this instance.
We will cover case studies from home and abroad, and consider the future of the technology so you can remain ahead of the competitive curve.
Like any tool – AR and MR will not solve every problem, despite what the media or sales representatives might say. You will learn when and how they can best be used, how much it can cost and what skill sets are required to realise the solution. During the workshop, there will be time to consider your own business circumstances and how such tools could be of benefit.
When Dr Roy Davies built his first VR environment to train people with brain injuries, PCs had just started to be sold with colour graphics. In 2001, Dr Roy was one of the first people in the world to obtain a PhD in the usability of Virtual Reality then subsequently built and ran Scandinavia's largest VR research lab.
Roy's work in New Zealand as an augmented reality advisor and now service business owner (Imersia), has given Roy insights into the actual realities for AR/MR from a commercial viewpoint.
Your company and organisation will come away from this workshop with insights as to whether augmentative reality and mixed reality have an application for your product as well as business.
There will be an unique blend of academic know-how and practical commercialism to provide awareness, which also helps with decisions for whether AR/MR is relevant for companies.
