Ryukyu Kempo is a martial art from Okinawa, the largest of the Ryukyuan islands near China and Japan. It is the forerunner to Karate in Japan and has strong Chinese Wushu influences. Natural movements are done, not risky acrobatics, so the same techniques are taught to young and old alike.

Specialising in pressure points to accentuate the effects, massage and medicine are also taught. The three top instructors have combined experience of 100 years+ and have Black Belts in other systems too. The Red Crested White Crane (Hakutsuru) is the animal upon which the system's movements are based. Come and train for free at these sessions to try out this intellectual, merciful and effective art. It has only been recently introduced into New Zealand because of its esoteric, secretive and dangerous nature.

Come along and enjoy!
