This course provides an introduction to French for absolute beginners and those with very little knowledge of the language. It gives a good grounding in basic grammar and speaking, vocabulary and pronunciation; and is particularly useful if you are travelling to a French-speaking country.

French 1 is suitable for beginners who wish to gain an introduction to French, whether travelling to an French-speaking country to live and/or work, for personal or business reasons, or for personal study.

How to meet and greet people
The basics of grammar - for clear, accurate communication
A useful vocabulary - the most vital words in everyday life
Good pronunciation - to make sure what you are saying can be understood
