The first rule of Wine Club is you don't miss Wine Club.

A sip down the rabbit hole tasting biodynamic and natural wines. These wines are beautiful, so their creators are clearly doing something right. If the tides are dictated by the moons waxing and waning, why not the ripeness of grapes? Let's not forget that the ancient greeks and romans harvested this way, so it's a cradle to cradle approach. Natural wines are by far the most debated category, probably because there is no overseeing body that assigns certifications to winemakers and so there are very few rules. The idea, however is to intervene with the whole process of wine making as little as possible. Most of the accepted tweaks in the wine world are avoided. So call it minimal intervention, low-fi, wines that make you feel just as good as other wines, but the story and the creation is more magical and true to the way wine was made in the beginning. Natural wine is not new; it is what wine always was, and yet, somehow today it has become a rarity. It is a tiny drop in a big ocean, but, oh my, what a drop. I’ll be pouring a selection of my favourites from NZ and around the world and telling the stories behind each bottle. XO Jemma

At our wine tastings at Fantail & Turtle we pour wines of integrity & authenticity, wines that speak of their terroir, we share stories about the wine-makers that cherish their vineyards and look after the environment. We pour wines for people who care, made by people who care. Sip on a journey through wine on the last Wednesday of every month. Each meeting brings 6 wines, cheese & good company. Hosted by long time wine lover Jemma Grobbelaar.

We stand firmly by our ethos - wine is only as good as the company you drink it with.

February 24th - Natural & Biodynamic Wines
