Rugby Park is primarily a rugby union venue and home ground to the SIT Zero Fees Stags and is also home to the offices of Rugby Southland.
The venue has a capacity of 17,000, although in former incarnations has accommodated up to 30,000 in the 1960s before the facility was further developed with seating over the proceeding decades.
The stadium was built on the site of Invercargill's former rugby venue, Homestead Stadium. In 2000, the city of Invercargill announced plans to replace Homestead Stadium with backing from the ILT and Community Trust of Southland.
Now owned by the Invercargill City Council and operated by Invercargill Venue & Events Management Ltd, Rugby Park is also available to hire for events ranging including small wedding breakfasts, special occasions and a wide variety of sporting events.
There are several venue hire options available, including the First Fifteen Lounge with beautiful city views during the evening.
This distinctive venue is also perfect for those who wish to self-cater.
