The building was officially opened by Her Excellency Lady Fergusson, the wife of the Governor General, on Friday 21 April, 1967. Glen House had, however, already been in use as a Guide and Scout Hall since 1962. The Hall’s charter states that it is to be used primarily for youth groups and over the past 50 years Scout and Guide groups, Playcentre, and Masada have enjoyed the Glen House facilities.
