Dannevirke South is a school of opportunities. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy and staff have worked very hard to implement very good teaching programmes with excellent results.

Students with learning needs are catered for with a range of intervention programmes included: reading recovery, RRAP reading, teacher aide support and expert classroom teachers.

Our Gifted and Talented programme includes: students on correspondence, ICAS, Otago Maths, Australian Maths Competition, Primary Research Project, Robotics and Wakarara Camps.

Staff and students are supported by an excellent Board of Trustees and a wonderful Support our Students (SOS) group of parents.
