COVID19 UPDATE 01/09/20: We were postponed by Covid but are now up and running again with the new dates and a Covid safety plan. We will be taking care to ensure social distancing, seats will be limited to 60 per night and spaced - though family groups of 10 or less are allowed to sit closer together. Please do not congregate in the foyer, around the ticket desk or at the back of the hall. When you arrive you will shown to your seat. Please let the ushers know if you are in a small group so that you can be seated together.
Sadly, this also means we won't be offering our usual refreshments before the show nor in the shortened interval - it might be a good idea to bring your own water or soft drink (no alcohol please). We will also be taking care to clean frequently touched surfaces before and after the performance.
Sorry about all this - but we want to do our best to keep everyone safe - and still allow you to enjoy a great show!!!"
SNAP directed by Anne Manchester.
A classic whodunit based on the novel Photo Finish by Ngaio Marsh – the New Zealand Queen of the genre.
An extremely temperamental Callas-style operatic diva, Isabella Sommita, has been hounded around the world by an odious member of the paparazzi. Her manager takes her to a grand but remote lodge on a South Island lake and invites the London-based portrait painter Troy Alleyn (and her detective husband, Roderick Alleyn of Scotland Yard) to paint her portrait. We meet a cast of larger-than-life characters and watch as the brilliant detective unravels an operatic-style murder.
This is performed on stage in the Muritai School Hall.
