The Cancer Society Kāpiti is running a series of free mindfulness workshops for those affected by cancer, either directly or in a support role. These sessions will be run by expert Peter Davies, a retired medical doctor and experienced mindfulness teacher.
The workshop commences on Tuesday 26th January and will run every Tuesday from 10:00am - 11:30am for 6 weeks.
Mindfulness is an intentional awareness of the present moment. It can:
- help you find a sense of calm
- help manage pain symptoms, sleep disturbance and fatigue
- decrease stress
- help regain a sense of control.
