He oranga taiao. He oranga tangata.
Join Dr Ihirangi Heke for an Atua Matua wananga in the ngahere.
Atua Matua is a health system that uses physical activity as a modality to connect with natural elements. By visiting the atua of various natural realms, we can acquire mātauranga taiao (traditional environmental knowledge) activating hinengaro (mind), tinana (body) and wairua (spirit) and leading to health and well-being.
The wananga will begin with a gentle Tawhiriao practice, which uses movement with rākau as a mindfulness practice. Shared kai to conclude our wananga.
Koha appreciated. Please bring a plate for shared kai. Numbers are limited. Bookings essential. Call Arataki Visitor Centre to book: 09 892 4777.
