Way of the Cross is an opportunity to reflect on the stations of the cross in the light of the life of the Venerable Suzanne Aubert on Good Friday.

The Sisters of Compassion are mindful of the health and well-being of visitors, sisters, staff and volunteers, and are closely following Ministry of Health and other government COVID-19 guidelines.
As a result of this rapidly changing situation, some of our services at Our Lady's Home of Compassion in Island Bay are closing from Saturday 21 March 2020.
Public spaces such as the Heritage Centre, Chapel, Resting Place, and Cloister Cafe are closed to visitors from Saturday 21 March 2020 until further notice.
Bookings at the Retreat House that comply with Ministry of Health recommendations will continue. The Island Bay Manager will make contact with all existing bookings taking place over the next eight weeks.
The following regular events in our Spirituality Programme services will continue until further notice and will run in compliance with Ministry of Health guidelines:
- Christian Meditation, Mondays 7pm
- Quiet Days, second Thursday of the month, 10am-2pm
- Taize Services, first Friday of the month, 7pm.
Thursday morning Christian Meditation is cancelled until further notice.
The Sunday Miha (Maori Mass) is cancelled until further notice.
The following events will go ahead at this stage, but prior registration is essential:
- An Encounter with Mercy (1 April 2020)
- The Way of the Cross (10 April 2020)
- Poetry and Prayer with Anne Powell (16 May 2020)
- One-day Retreat – "All Creeds & None" (6 June 2020)
- Two-day Retreat – "Art, Action & Contemplation" (3-5 July 2020).
We will continue to monitor the situation and look forward to welcoming people back to the Home in the future.
